My Journey

Aale-Triinu Sonn teaches prenatal yoga and mother-baby yoga at Goyoga Tallinn with founder Raili Maripuu .

Prenatal classes are for the second and third trimester: light to moderate yoga plus clear functional anatomy, so conscious movement and bodywork also support the baby for birth. Every class includes breathing for daily life and for labour. Classes open with a short Q&A where she shares doula knowledge and lived experience.

In mother-baby classes the focus is postnatal recovery. Alongside yoga she draws on physiotherapy and yoga-therapy elements and doula training to support deep core and pelvic-floor recovery. You may come alone; babies aged about 2 to 20 months are welcome and gently woven into the practice, with room to connect and play.

After qualifying as a Kriya Hatha yoga instructor she began prenatal yoga in 2006 and has since helped nearly 1,000 women prepare for birth. She sees birth itself as an extraordinary form of yoga: conscious breath, releasing positions, relaxation, fully listening to the body's feedback, and gratitude. After her second child in 2014, postnatal mother-baby yoga grew naturally from her classes. Students often say the skills from class helped them in labour.

Certificates and training

After her third child she completed doula (family and birth supporter) diploma studies at Heaolu ja Põlistarkuste Kool (2016-2018). As a doula she has supported more than 75 births: hospital and home, physiological labour and caesarean. A doula is not a midwife: she offers continuous non-medical presence, practical guidance, and emotional support.

She also holds a UNICEF lactation-consultant certificate , a substantial breastfeeding course (about 40 hours) for evidence-based lactation support.

Her Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator training in the Netherlands deepened prenatal classes with practical bodywork; she is among the few SpBCPEs in Estonia ( Spinning Babies directory ).

What students say

How students describe practising with this teacher

Breathing and positions that carried into labour

Women who took her prenatal classes often write that the breathing, releasing positions, and body awareness from class showed up when labour began: practical tools, not only studio practice.

Calm, clear, and professional

Families describe her doula presence as calm and professional: she answers when labour starts, helps read early signs, and stays steady so partners know what to do next.

From the mat into the birth room

Several stories start in prenatal yoga and continue with her as doula: the same trusted guide from weekly class through hospital or home birth.

Held after birth

Postpartum notes thank her for physical and emotional care in the early days: a sense of being held, quieter nights for baby, and practical continuity after the birth.
