Traditional Mysore Style Practice
What is Mysore style? It is the traditional way of practising Ashtanga yoga. Unlike a led class, each student moves at their own pace and breathing rhythm. The teacher guides and adjusts postures individually, giving you personalised attention every session.
Perfect for beginners too. You do not need to memorise any postures before your first class. In your opening session the teacher will show you the breathing technique and the first postures of the Primary Series. Week by week you learn more of the sequence at your own pace, with zero pressure.
Flexible timing. Mysore classes run Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 9:00 in the morning. Arrive whenever suits you within that window, start your practice, and finish in your own time.
Dedicated Teachers and Authentic Lineage
GoYoga founder and lead Ashtanga teacher Raili Maripuu has trained extensively under renowned Ashtanga master Lino Miele in Italy and at the source in Mysore, India. This direct teacher-student lineage ensures that the instruction you receive is authentic and rooted in the living tradition of Ashtanga yoga.
Our teachers do not simply demonstrate postures. They provide individual hands-on adjustments that support your alignment, help you move deeper into postures safely, and build body awareness over time.
Experienced Ashtanga teacher Keiu Allas (Grossberg) completes the teaching team, bringing her own years of dedicated daily practice and a warm, encouraging approach to every student on the mat.

Ashtanga Yoga Practice at GoYoga Tallinn
GoYoga studio in Tallinn, located at Narva mnt 7D on the 3rd floor (Kesklinn, 10117), is one of the few places in Estonia where Ashtanga yoga is transmitted through the traditional Parampara lineage. Studio founder Raili Maripuu has spent years practising under Lino Miele, who received his authorisation directly from the founder of Ashtanga yoga, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois at KPJAYI in Mysore, India. This unbroken teacher-student chain means that when you step onto the mat at GoYoga, you receive authentic instruction rather than a repackaged version of the practice.
Mysore classes run Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 9:00. You can arrive at any point within that window and practise at your own rhythm. On Fridays a Led class is also offered, where the entire group moves together following the teacher's traditional Sanskrit count. Led classes are excellent for refining your technique and experiencing the collective energy of synchronised breathing and movement.
Alongside Raili, Keiu Allas (Grossberg) guides Mysore and Led classes, bringing years of personal practice and a distinctive adjustment style. Each teacher has completed extensive training and maintains a dedicated daily Ashtanga practice. The studio is fully accessible by elevator, and the building is easy to reach by tram, bus, or car with parking available nearby.
Scientific research supports the wide-ranging benefits of a regular Ashtanga practice. A systematic review published in PubMed found that Ashtanga-style yoga significantly reduces perceived stress and improves body composition within as few as 12 weeks. Yoga Alliance, the international yoga teacher registry, recognises Ashtanga as one of the most systematically structured yoga styles in the world, making it a rewarding path for practitioners who value consistency and measurable progress.
If you are brand new to yoga, our yoga classes overview explains every style we offer so you can find the right fit. More experienced practitioners looking to deepen their morning routine will find useful details on the studio page. After an intensive Ashtanga session, many students love to balance their body with a Yin yoga class focused on deep stretching and connective tissue health. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Ashtanga yoga suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. Mysore-style Ashtanga is actually one of the best ways to start yoga. Unlike a group class where everyone does the same thing, in Mysore you receive fully individual guidance. The teacher shows you the first postures step by step, and you progress only when you feel confident. No prior experience, flexibility, or fitness level is required at GoYoga.
What is the difference between a Mysore class and a Led class?
In a Mysore class, each student practises the posture sequence independently at their own pace while the teacher moves around the room, observing and giving individual adjustments. In a Led class, the entire group moves together as the teacher calls out postures in Sanskrit and guides the breathing rhythm. At GoYoga, Led classes are held on Fridays.
What time do Ashtanga classes start and how long do they last?
Mysore classes run Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 9:00. You may arrive at any time within that window. A beginner's practice typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, while more advanced practitioners may practise for up to 90 minutes. After your session you will have plenty of time to get to work or school. Check the full schedule here.
How much does an Ashtanga yoga class cost?
New students can try the Studio Explorer Pass for 29 EUR, which includes 3 classes of your choice within 30 days. A single class costs 18 EUR, a 5-class card is 50 EUR, a 12-class card is 108 EUR, and the unlimited monthly pass is 79 EUR. See the full pricing list here.
What should I bring to my first Ashtanga class?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Yoga is practised barefoot, so no special footwear is needed. Yoga mats are available at the studio, but you are welcome to bring your own. Pack a small towel and a water bottle. Try to eat your last light meal about two hours before class, as Ashtanga is physically demanding and practising on a full stomach can be uncomfortable.
